On Ebon Musings, there is already a list of those, called Behold, I Am Against Your Pillows . There is also the absurdities section of the Skeptic's Annotated Bible. But both may be missing a few gems...
For instance, what about Deuteronomy 25:11-12 (which I've mentioned in the blog some time ago)? :
If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.
It's cruel and barbaric, but it's also unintentionally funny (IMO, at least), because it shows an unhealthy obsession with their "family jewels", and also for the amount of detail and specifics they give...
Another favorite of mine (this one comes from the Ebon Musings page, mentioned above) is Judges 1:19:
The LORD was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had iron chariots.
In the words of Ebonmuse, "so much for omnipotence."
Your turn.
